AFTER the RAIN ..........

As much as I've loved the beautiful weather we've been having, it has been good to get some rain over the past few days, especially for us gardeners.

..... flowers look even prettier covered in raindrops ..... the above rose is St Swithuns ..... I bought it years ago as my husbands birthday is on St Swithuns day and it is the most beautiful rose ..... this year it has been at it's best ..... sometimes that means a plant is going to give up the ghost, let's hope not !

This is Penny Lane

Can't remember the name of the clematis off the top of my head .....

This rose is Desdemona ...... it has the most wonderful perfume .....

A question :
When you write your posts, do you prepare ? ..... I don't { as you may well have noticed !!! }  I just ramble on as if I'm talking !

During lockdown, I haven't been able to do much because of my back but, now its on the mend, I'm all over it. I cleaned out all of the bathroom cupboards yesterday ..... threw all of my make up and bottles of shampoo etc with hardly anything in them away ..... so liberating. I'm going to do the kitchen drawers today ..... who is this new Jackie I ask myself ?

  1. Prepare what? Usually I write my piece then look at it in 'preview' before I publish. The 'preview' seems to show all the mistakes, etc, far better than when I'm actually doing the writing.

  2. The photos are gorgeous- rain is so cleansing-probably where you got the urge to cleanse inside the house too. I love that feeling of a fresh and new face on everything.

Glad you are feeling better. Nope I don't prepare anything either and it shows lol

  3. No, I don't prepare at all. It just unfurls itself as I write. Like last night's. You must have got wet taking the photos.

  6. Gorgeous roses Jacqueline. Glad to hear that your back pain has eased. You must be feeling like a new woman now! My blog posts are just a load of drivel, downloaded directly from my head to the keyboard, with just a cursory spellcheck before pressing the Publish button xx

  7. I'm concerned I'm getting boring with so many garden posts (that's where I spend most of my time now other than a weekly grocery run!), so I'm looking back at old travel posts, which is always fun, and thinking of new stories to accompany those photos I took in many lovely places. Am feeling somewhat antsy now and would love to go somewhere new!

Love your garden photos today - such beautiful roses - all look so delicious with the raindrops. Thanks for going outside to capture these, I can almost smell them!

So happy your back is better and you are able to do more - I need to edit my potions and lotions too - don't seem to need anywhere need as much stuff now!

P.S. Jackie re: your comment on my post today (thanks) - no, no, don't worry about leaving, we all feel that way but will be fine I think. Look at my post again and see I've EDITED it to include a link to Rosemary's post with some excellent info about the new Blogger we will all have to use soon! Read her comments section too where many people have left their thoughts on the coming change.

    1. I have also spent nearly all of my time in the garden since lockdown began at the end of March Mary ... .. I don’t have much more to tell everyone and I’m sure they don’t want to keep hearing about my clearing out all of the time .... it bores me so would bore everyone else !
Thanks for the heads up about new blogger and I shall refer to your comment when the time comes. I don’t like change !
I am going to start on the breakfast room next which is more of a mountain to climb .... maybe I’ll take photographs ( then I can prove to everyone that I did it 🤣 ) XXXX

  8. Beautiful photos, especially of some roses I know (and think I can remember their smell - which of course is not possible). Good that your back is better - and yes, I agree: throwing out almost empty cosmetic bottles has something liberating! XXXX

    1. Hi Britta .... I love roses and always thought they would struggle in our north facing garden but they do quite well. I cleaned out some kitchen drawers yesterday .... it’s amazing the rubbish you accumulate after so many years !!! XXXX

  9. I have Desdemona too and she’s a stunning rose. Also the most strongly perfumed I have. Great pics Jackie. Sorry to hear about the back.. ouch!

    1. Hi Jessica .... isn’t Desdemona gorgeous in both looks & perfume ? Yours will be better than mine as you’ve probably got it in a better position although, it does reasonably well in our north facing garden. I have three that are only a few years old and they are filling out ! Sorry I haven’t commented for a while but if often won’t let me ! I’m always popping in to get inspiration from your beautiful garden ( and house ! ) XXXX

    3. It asks for my website address and then, when I put it in, it just keeps asking for it as if it doesn’t recognise it 🤷‍♀️ ... signing in with Gacebook is more successful ! It’s probably me doing it wrong to be fair 🤣 XXXX

    1. Ahww, thanks Elizabeth ... what a lovely thing to say. I threw loads of make up away . I still have loads of BIBA make up from the 70’s but I have kept it all but won’t use it ! I just make my photographs extra large but, I’m only on Blogger which is quite simple.
Thinking of you and your family .... hope you are all coping OK. XXXX

  14. Its a pleasure for me to write this testimony about how i got my Genital Herpes simplex been reading so many comments of some people who were cured from various diseases by Dr ubarlo but i never believed them. I was hurt and depressed so I was too curious and wanted to try Dr ubarlo, then i contacted him through his email when i contact him, he assured me 100% that he will heal me, i pleaded with him to help me out. My treatment was a great success, he healed me just as he promised. he sent me his medication and ask me to go for check up after one weeks of taking the medication. i agreed with him i took this medication and went for check up a , to my greatest surprise my result was negative after the treatment, i am really happy that i am cured and healthy again. I have waited for 3weeks to be very sure i was completely healed before writing this testimony. I did another blood test one week ago and it was still Herpes negative. so i guess its time i recommend anyone going through Herpes HSV-1 or HSV-2, HIV, HPV, Hepatitis B, Diabetes, Cancer reach him through Email drubarlohome@gmail.com OR add on whatsapp +2348119508814
