DOWN in the POTTING SHED ..........

I've been in the potting shed all afternoon ... actually, I've been in the greenhouse but potting shed sounds so much better !!! ..........

I've potted on my Gypsophila ' Gypsy Rose ' .... all 40 little plants which still need protection from the frost so can't be planted out until the end of May. By then, they should be much bigger and look something like this ..........

I'll show you when they hopefully get like the above !!!

We have also bought the garden furniture out of their winter hibernation in the shed ... a sure sign that the weather is warming up !!

Happy Easter everyone ... enjoy lots of Easter Eggs, good food and drink and time with your family and friends.

  1. It's a lovely time of year. Sowing, planting, pruning, everything spells anticipation. I only have an outdoor potting shed, but it's getting plenty of use!

  5. I've done a little work in my potting shed (also known as Jasmin Cottage after my granddaughter Jasmin without an 'e') this week as it's been great weather, actually far too hot for me. Also cleaned out the gazebo for a wine and cheese evening with neighbors on Wed., and hope to enjoy Easter Sunday teatime out there.

Lovely pix Jackie. Hope your Gypsophila thrives - it's always so pretty, and back home in Devon I recall how it tumbled out and over old stone walls which looked awesome and so beautiful in late spring/early summer.

Easter blessings to you and your family, and may it be a time of peace for all.

We have a garden shed but we're far too lazy to do any potting! We just have lots of bushes which we prune now and again.

  17. Wow, Jackie - that reminds me to throw my Tropaeolum Minus into the April earth on the balcony! Though it is too cold at the moment -- hail yesterday in Berlin (which the balcony plants survived quite nicely) and Bavaria snowed under, as son reported... well: April...

  18. Ahhh, this is so wonderful to read. You make me happy! I love gardening, but around here (Texas) we don't often worry about frost. We had 2 days of winter where the temps were in the 20f's. Yes yes yes, please show the little plants once they pop open. Love to see the magic. xx's

    1. Hi lovely Marsha,
My plants are still in the greenhouse as there is always a risk of frost until the end of May. They are slowly getting bigger ..... hopefully the magic will happen !!!!! XXXX
