I'M.....PUTTING ON MY TOP HAT ..........

I thought that, with all of the talk about my top hat , I should show you all a photograph of me wearing it. The camera is in front of my face to hide the saggy jowls that are heading south !!!! haha. You can now give me your opinions as to whether Waitrose Supermarket is ready for it, and me, to be seen, pushing a trolley down the aisle !! As you will see from the following, I am in very good company when it comes to the wearing of the posh head attire, although, I don't think that they would have been seen, doing their weekly shop, with their top hat on !!..........

.......... Nadja Auermann for Vogue U.S. September 1992 ..........
Oh, Dustjacket Attic..... I'm not tryting to steal your glory !!

.......... Marlene Dietrich, 1930 ..........

.......... Fred Astaire ..........

.......... Madonna ..........

.......... perhaps, I should stop wearing it and turn it into a lampshade,
Jane @ Peartree House I might need your help for this !!
.......... Alice ..........

.......... and, me again. Well, what do you reckon ? My children would disown me if I dared to do the shopping in it !! Maybe it should stay in the hat box until there is a grand enough occasion to wear it ? Maybe I should have auditioned for Alice in Wonderland ?.......... or, maybe I should just grow up !!!!!!!!!!
Jackie

  2. Never grow up, sweet Jackie! I adore you and your top hat. I have a bowler hat, Next time I'm in England I'll wear it over to your place, and then you and I can go to Waitrose together--you in your top hat, me in my bowler.

You look fabulous, by the way.

  30. Please don't grow up!!!! My husband had a very formal grandfather who wore white tie rather often, and had a collection of handmade top hats in beautiful leather cases. I have worn these hats at a few occasions, it is such a great twist....perfect for Waitrose supermarket, i would think...

  33. Yes, Waitrose is ready for that, and the hat must be tipped in respect when passing the posh easter eggs. You look ever so stylish, Jacqueline, and I'm pleased to see evidence of the lapse you spoke of in your adherence to black! Substitute a fan for that camera in front of your fan and you'd be a modern Contessa. A round of applause from your neighbouring country.
