WE'RE OFF TO ROME ..........

We are off to Rome for a few days. Normal service will be resumed on my return. Sorry for not commenting much lately ..... my blog went doolally and I had to have a few repairs. I'm off for a bit of culture, good food and copious amounts of wine. Back soon with images and tales of fun in Rome.  See you on my return.

Our 'By Invitation' subject this month is Thoughts of October.  I'm afraid that no humorous connotations of this particular month sprung to mind so, it's just pretty pictures of a time of year that is particularly close to my heart as our son and daughter-in-law got married in October 2008 and was the most wonderful day and a beautiful time of year to get married.

Olympic gold and now the U S Open title. Andy Murray is the first man to win the Olympic singles title and the U S Open in the same year .... and, what a year to do it in. The Diamond Jubilee, victory in the Tour de France, Olympic glory, Paralympic success, even Murray's Wimbledon final and now, the 76 year old Grand Slam drought is over for Great Britain ..........

CYCLES ..... BY INVITATION .....

By Invitation is back from it's Summer Holidays and our subject is Cycles.....

THE CYCLE OF LIFE .....

I think that the cycle of life is all backwards ..... We should start out dead ..... get it all out of the way first.

You wake up in a nursing home and start feeling better everyday .....

They throw you out of there for being too healthy, you collect your pension then, when you start work, they give you a gold watch on your first day. You work for 40 years until you are young enough to enjoy your retirement.

You drink alcohol, you party hard, you are generally promiscuous and you get ready for Senior school.

After Senior school you go to primary school, you become a child and you play and nap all day. You have no responsibilities. 

You become a baby with no cares whatsoever.

Then, you spend your last 9 months floating peacefully, with luxuries like central heating, spa treatments, room service on tap and larger living quarters everyday ..... and then .....

you finish off as an orgasm !!!!!!
