Hello Jackie:
ReplyDeleteYou really do have an eye for a wonderful image and those which you have chosen to illustrate 'October' are perfect both for their out of the way, unusual subject matter and for their originality. The steam rising from the mug of coffee is most effective and very, very real.
What a lovely time of year for your son and daughter-in-law to have chosen to be married. If truth is to be told, then one does become a little jaded of all those spring brides, only to be replaced as the year progresses with summer ones!! But now we should stop lest cynicism takes over!
Wonderful stuff Jackie! I'm really getting into the spirit of October and halloween now! :)
ReplyDeleteJess xx
Stunning images and love "the feel" you give to the browns and beiges! (My warm wool socks are beige . . .)
ReplyDeleteJacqueline, that coffer steaming up and the Downton Abbey image make me crazy.
ReplyDeleteJust wonderful! So happy you are with us for this month's By Invitation Only post. Sending love from Texas....
Hi Jackie! Oooh lovely lovely images especially the second and third!!
ReplyDeleteA nice time of year for your son to get married, still warm enough (just) and I bet everyone looked gorgeous against the golden trees and Autumn flowers in the pictures.
Aren't we just loving 'Downton Abbey'? It finishes the week-end off perfectly.
Hope you are well Jackie and that gorgeous grandson of yours,
Hugs Jane x
quite lovely........I much prefer winter weddings my godson is getting married in November....unbelievably!!
ReplyDeleteJust perfect, Jackie! I have that same quote up this week on my blog - its fabulous isn't it? much love to you, dear Jackie! xxoo

ReplyDeleteWhen is the new season of Downton starting? I cannot wait...
your images are mighty gorgeous
ReplyDeleteYou always put together the best images Jackie... I love your take on October... Fantastic... xv
ReplyDeleteDear Jackie,
ReplyDeletethese photographs are simply stunning - and capture the gist of autumn. The dandelion and the spider web: extremely beautiful! And I see brogues in a new light. A mug with steaming coffee or tea, getting dreamily lost in Downton Abbey - perfect! Thank you.
This is so fabulous!! I love love it and love that I found/discovered a new blog in the process. Thanks Marsha:)
ReplyDeleteDo not say sorry dear Jackie I'm also been a while far away from blogland but now I´m scribble a bit up against the shore.
ReplyDeleteThese photographs are så nice!
Love gerda.
Hi Jackie, love the steaming coffee and the moving set of Downton Abbey. As a matter of fact the only date I have set in my phone for 2013 is for the start of that series. I am now enjoying Call The Midwife which started here on Sunday which is wonderful too. I really only watch British TV as American shows are complete filth. So good to hear from you today. xo, Olive
ReplyDeleteP.S. I shall think of you when we dine on that lovely china
What beautiful images for October...such a wonderful time of year.
ReplyDeleteHello Jacqueline
ReplyDeleteI can imagine you enjoyed this wonderful Autumnal season and kicking up some leaves as you go.
A beautiful post and please wish you children a very Happy Anniversary.
The Downton Abby image is brilliant
Helenxx
All you need is tea, warm socks and the occasional glass of wine. xo
ReplyDeleteJackie how did you know I needed a steaming cup of coffee?? Very cool.
ReplyDeleteI too love everything about Fall, the colors, the smell in the air. I almost thought that Downton Abbey was coming back sooner but I remembered you saying it was different there. I think it returns in January for us. I just saw Upstairs Downstairs the other night but I was distracted so I have to watch it again. I heard that Midwife was really good too.
Hope you're enjoying spending time with that adorable grandson.
hugs
Carole
Jackie I love these images of Autumn splendor! I do have to say that my favorite had to be the clip from Downton Abbey. I have to say that I am rather rabid over this series. Dale won't even miss a night of it. He won't do that for my Jane Austen's :0 I love snuggling up to the fire and watch it. I record them and watch them over and over. I just love to see the fashions and the decor in the homes, not to mention the clever story.
ReplyDeleteI also love Halloween when all the children from my tiny town come around in their darling costumes and trick or treat. Some of the kids aren't so little either. It seems that the hip thing to do in high school (at least here) is to go around and get their share of the goods too.
I hope you squeeze every bit of gorgeous-ness out of this time of year my dear British friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ringin' all my chimes here! Ohhh! for October!
ReplyDeleteOoohhh I'm reading your fabulous post with a cup of coffee in my hand!!!!! So I'm totally agree with you!!!
ReplyDeleteKisses.
Such gorgeous, unexpected images for this month! Oh, I also loved, loved, loved the two GIFs--and the spider web!!!
ReplyDeleteBisous from Arles,
Heather

ReplyDeleteHappy October to you! :)
hi darling friend... such gorgeous images... i so love fall... is it so cozy and i feel a total nest fest coming on!
ReplyDeleteHello you! I love those moving image photos - I get completely transfixed by them! You've captured the season so well and if it weren't so DANK I would be excited by Autumn! I think it is because we had such a crumby summer - but still - onwards and upwards as is the British way! Lou x
ReplyDeleteWhat would I do without you?!! I will endeavour to worry less xxx
ReplyDeletehappy autumn to you too!!!!
ReplyDeletethis is a gorgeous post.

You've captured just how October makes me feel with these pictures, Jackie! It's my favorite month, and not just because I was born in October, but I'm sure that doesn't hurt.
ReplyDeleteAnd I really, really want those brogues. Seriously.
Big love and hugs to you, my friend. xoxo gigi
Hello my dearest Jackie ~ You brought out some of the best of Autumn. I would think being married in October would present itself as a beautiful back drop for such a wonderful occasion. The turning of the leaves and all the spiced colours. I can't wait for this season of Downtown Abbey too! I'll be siting here with my cuppa tea in hand. I hope the whole family is doing well. I'm ashamed that I've not written you more but really do want to catch up and hear the latest news.
ReplyDeleteSending you love from Aberdeen xx
Loving everything about this post...I am an October girl..and right now I have a cup of tea and warm socks on...pure joy I say! hugs
