HOUSEKEEPING ..........

I cleaned our bedroom today ..... not just a flick round with a duster but, pulling the bed and chest of drawers out and sweeping enough dust up to fill a small cushion !!! .....

..... and, washing everything including the floor and skirting boards and, I touched up the wardrobes. New bedlinen went on the bed and, I have also started to clear out my wardrobe although, I'm not very good at getting rid of clothes. I think that I emotionally hang on to things ..... I need to learn how to be ruthless.

I'm sorry but I haven't much to tell at the moment, much like everyone else. You probably don't want to hear about my cleaning activities ..... it bores me so it is probably boring you. Things are on the up though ..... hairdressers in just over a week and I'm taking my car in on Wednesday for oil change, brake fluid and new filter ... woo hoo ...... life just gets better and better !! ..... I'll take photographs ..... I bet you can't wait ?!!

  1. Hi Jackie, sounds like an action-packed life for you coming up! We switched over the headboard cover last week, a two-person job, so I got to tackle the dust bunnies behind the bed at long last. Thrills galore, hahah! xx

    1. Oh, it’s one big party over here 😂🤣😂 I have to summon up some enthusiasm to have a good clean but it is very satisfying once it’s done ! XXX

  2. The way I see it- you are still here and able to clean and get an oil change. Many folks will never again do those things. I say they are blessings not boring.

    1. You are right, of course Z ... I am very grateful.... I only told you as it was an idea for something to post as I am at a loss considering I’m not doing much ! Look after yourself. XXXX

  3. I like to keep my kitchen reasonably clean, and of course everything to with the preparation and consuming of food. Otherwise I'm a bit of a slob. We have cobwebs everywhere, and with a dog in the house his hairs get everywhere. I can't really have a cleaner, as the place is so cluttered. Tant pis!

    1. I try to keep it all tidy on the surface but, now and again it needs a thorough going over !!! As you probably know, old houses seem to get so much grubbier than new ones. I think it’s all of the open fireplaces and dust coming up from the floorboards, not to mention the rattly sash windows that let in dust by the bucket full !!! .... all part of living in an old house ! We had a 17th century cottage before this house and that was even dustier ! XXXX

  4. I love to read about your household activities, Jackie!
As to clinging to ones clothes: I do have the same problem (at the moment I am just sorting "out" the summer wardrobe -- but as you see: I have to put the word "out" into quotation marks... And you know what I found out: most pieces are so beautiful (or necessary), that I can wait one, two years - and wear them again - and getting compliments for them I do not make the fault to say: "Oh - that - that old thing!" - no, I say "Thank you" and smile.
Of course place in a wardrobe is sometimes limited, haha - because keeping the "old" elegant beloved things does not hinder me to buy new ones (and even just after the lock down here in Berlin I managed to buy 3 pairs of shoes - which of course I NEEDED desperately, hahaha...

    1. Oh Britta, I am terrible at throwing clothes away ..... I love them all and, still wear most of them even if some don’t get a look in often !!.... and, like you , still buy more ! In my head, I would love a wardrobe with just enough clothes so that they aren’t crushed and all in order of coats, jackets, shirts, trousers etc. I don’t think that’s going to happen anytime soon 🤣 XXXX

  5. Could you please pop over here and have a go at mine??
I really should tackle mine more often as I have all sorts of allergies - house dust being one of them. I also have three wardrobes crammed full of clothes, many of which rarely see the light of day. One of them is full of my "before" clothes that I kept after I lost a lot of weight - just in case 😳

  6. I've always liked the old nick-name for the fluff that builds up under beds - 'slut's wool'!

  8. Fortunately the February bedroom makeover with new paint, ceiling, flooring etc. is holding up regarding no deep cleaning required quite yet - just flitting around with mop and duster works! Remainder of house could use a 'deep clean' but it's just the bathrooms and kitchen getting most of my energy these days! After all, who sees it now but us - no visitors ringing the door bell lately! It's the garden keeping us busy at home, and evenings on the front porch, or supper in the gazebo when not in the 90's, which is most days, are at least relaxing now the rose wine is always chilled!!!!

Closets? Did them at beginning of quarantine but may do another round of mine - not wearing half of what I have hanging about! Bob did his and it's almost impossible to get him to throw anything out. He just had a huge birthday on Sunday - and we're sitting here wondering where the h---
    all those years went!!!

Love your window shutters Jackie. Stay well and be strong in these difficult times. Mary x

    1. The whole of our house could do with a deep clean but, like you, the garden has had our full attention. Like you say Mary, who is going to see it ? Only our children and grandchildren and they spend most of the time in the garden. .... and, because I’m doing the garden, I’m only wearing old gardening clothes !!! Why do I need wardrobes full ?!! I need to get rid but I find it hard .... I need help and lots of it 🤣😂🤣
      Keep safe Mary XXXX

    1. I ordered new duvets & pillows for four bedrooms today ! They were getting old ..... I always forget things like that ! I’ve washed all the bed linen and am going to clean the rest of the bedrooms. I don’t love cleaning but it’s lovely when it’s done. At least it gives us something to do Elizabeth. Numbers have started to go up a bit here but I think that was expected when you relax the lockdown and start to get the economy going. I think we are in this for the long haul ! My sister and her husband drove to Spain yesterday .... not my idea of fun but each to their own ! XXXX

  13. Its a pleasure for me to write this testimony about how i got my Genital Herpes simplex been reading so many comments of some people who were cured from various diseases by Dr ubarlo but i never believed them. I was hurt and depressed so I was too curious and wanted to try Dr ubarlo, then i contacted him through his email when i contact him, he assured me 100% that he will heal me, i pleaded with him to help me out. My treatment was a great success, he healed me just as he promised. he sent me his medication and ask me to go for check up after one weeks of taking the medication. i agreed with him i took this medication and went for check up a , to my greatest surprise my result was negative after the treatment, i am really happy that i am cured and healthy again. I have waited for 3weeks to be very sure i was completely healed before writing this testimony. I did another blood test one week ago and it was still Herpes negative. so i guess its time i recommend anyone going through Herpes HSV-1 or HSV-2, HIV, HPV, Hepatitis B, Diabetes, Cancer reach him through Email drubarlohome@gmail.com OR add on whatsapp +2348119508814
