HAVE YOU SEEN THIS ? ……….

Have you seen this ? ………..

WOW …..a bit scary although, I shouldn't be surprised. Our lounge leads into our conservatory and, when you sit in the lounge with the conservatory doors open, you can see that video through our conservatory glass roof, but in real time !!!!! The planes are all going into or coming out of Stansted. { luckily they are still very high in the sky, so you can't hear them, but there are LOADS of them, criss - crossing the skies !! }

Love this song from Moulin Rouge and Nicole.

P.S : Sorry about the falling snow interfering with the air traffic !!!!!!

  4. No wonder Air Traffic Controllers suffer nervous-breakdowns at work. I had a friend who had to walk out of a simulated training course as an ATC, because he couldn't cope with the pressure - even simulated!

    1. Hi Tom,
Our daughter-in-law's brother is a pilot and he say's that it gets pretty busy up there in the skies …… I can imagine the stress that those ATC's are under.
…. and, what perfume will you be wearing tonight ? ….. eau de coq au vin ? XXXX

    2. We played being ATC's in the office the other day. We cut up slips of paper and passed them across the desks and selected which one we wanted, which pilot could speak English, which plane colours we liked etc, It was such fun XXX

  9. I find that all a bit scary too! They say that working for air traffic control is one of the most stressful jobs you can do, after seeing your film clip I'm not surprised!
Makes me wonder how they manage to get all the planes on the ground safely at all. Loved Moulin Rouge. Nice collection of photos you have found too! xx

  11. Hi Jackie,

It is scary! I must say I never gave it any thought. I think I will not do it now either. Otherwise I won't sleep at night, living close to Rotterdam/ The Hague airport :-) Fortunately the runway is in another direction!

    Have a lovely evening!

    1. Oh Madelief ….. I hope that I didn't worry you !! When you consider how many planes fly in and out everyday with very few accidents and, they say it's the safest form of transport. It just looks a bit scary in that video !!
Wishing you a lovely evening too. XXXX

  12. I've noticed recently lots of very short, bright red, vapour trails in the eastern early morning sky. The planes fly in all directions, very high up. If I had a half-decent camera I'd take some snaps.... maybe I'll try anyway. Love the toy plane.

  13. Dear Jackie,
a very impressive video - and yes: a bit scary too... So many people flying around (too cheap for all of us to fly, I think - air pollution). And the quality of life is suffering from it: in Hamburg we lived in the poshest area possible - Elbchaussee - and the airplanes just came over the villas (and sort of manors in parks) - starting at 6 o'clock in the morning - and some unallowed even earlier - until midnight. Over 120 flights some days - and sometimes one - almost - could see the white in the eye of the pilot. They told you: "Ah, you get used to it", which was true in a way - one didn't notice it in daily life, BUT one got nervous. When I was in London - as Hamburg a city where one cannot flee into a special zone without air-traffic - I heard it in Fulham - and thought: "Good god - thanks I am away from that now in Berlin". (Very inconsistent, as I came by air...) Munich was much cleverer: built the airport wide outside, you have to travel a while (of course the few people there are not happy).

    1. It's hard to believe that so many planes come in and out of the UK Britta ……… we have lived here for 28 years and I know that the skies have got busier and busier……. must be a nightmare for Air Traffic Controllers. Lets hope that they all get a good nights sleep !!!!! XXXX

  14. We seem to get them over us at night - you can hear them especially in summer with the windows open - I think we are on the flight path to East Midlands Airport - but I actually find them rather soothing - strange but true. Love that picture of the chic slender lady by the plane - - I used to have a vanity case like that with all the little pockets inside - do people still use them I wonder.

    2. Actually now I come to think about it we used to call them train cases - obviously harking back to times of elegant travel maybe on the Orient Express!
