BUTTONS AND BOWS ( and generally enjoying life !! )..........

Helping our children decorate, babysitting and real life has meant I have neglected my blog a little lately. Here are a few pretty pictures to be going on with while  ( ..... or is it whilst ?!! ) I go out to dinner, eat and drink, visit friends and the theatre and generally have a good time !!

..... and finally, one for my gentleman readers !! .....

Have a lovely week ..... we're off to the Cotswold's this weekend ..... oh no, that means more eating and drinking !!

  29. Thank you jackie !! It is so nice to know that I have support from all of you. I am so scared of loosing my blog to a totally stranger, and also scared of loosing my readers too. I am very bad when it comes to technical matters, so i feel even more unsure now. Luckily I have a "computergeek "in the house, so hopefully we can resolve this together very soon :)

( are you following me with bloglovin ? Did you see strange post being published these last days ? )

Now, to your fantastic Blog - Like always You have made a beautiful post that I love, lovely images !! You always manage to create tis special feeling, when I read and look you are always telling me so much more with the images you are putting together. It is a story behind it all, and that is what I love. Do you understand ? (Oh....my poor english)

Have a great trip to Cotswold (I know it is very beautiful there !) enjoy those wonderful sceneries, a bit for me too ;)

    Huge hug ~ Aina

  35. Hooray for prettiness and lacy, girly things! Thank you so much, Jackie, for your helpful advice about inns in Granchester! We ended up deciding to spend the whole week in London after NO luck finding anything in Cambridge on Trip Advisor, and then acquaintances we have in Cambridge said they can never find good accommodations for folks in Cambridge itself. So we're taking the train up to Cambridge from London for a couple of day trips. I think I'll need to visit Orchard House in Granchester. I've often taught Rupert Brooke over the years in poetry classes when we've studied WW I poets. He wasn't as brilliant a poet as Wilfred Owen, but he was certainly a hottie! :)

Have a fabulous time in the Cotswolds! xoxo Gigi

  39. Hi Jackie

A week ago you asked me about places to go to in Amsterdam. Sorry it took me so long to reply! My favourite occupation when in Amsterdam is to just walk along the canals and soak in the atmosphere.

The two museums you mentioned and which I did a post on are beautiful! One of my favourites is FOAM on the Keizersgracht (photography) and the Van Gogh museum. When you want to visit the Van Gogh musuem you have to be early, because it can be terribly busy!

I love to walk the 'negen straatjes' in 'de Jordaan'. This is an old part of Amsterdam with lots of quirky shops. You can find the most lovely things there (lots of vintage). I think you will like it! The Spiegelstraat is full of antique shops and very much worthwhile too.

Amsterdam has an Art Deco cinema (Tuschinski) which is beautiful too as is Artis, the Zoo!

Hope you will have a great time Jackie! Enjoy!

    Lieve groet & happy weekend,

    Madelief x
