Dear Jackie: This post is a beautiful ode to Christmas. Soft, ethereal, romantic and loving, so far from all the commercial tribulations of Christmas imposed on us. I feel i just entered a private retreat where all is love and beauty. thank you

ReplyDeletephotos are so beautiful fairy tale
ReplyDeleteHi there...ohh how very seasonal! I get this swell of Christmas feeling starting now and I so want it to last to the real deal! Last year by mid December it had worn off a bit in favour of a most uncharacteristic bah humbug! Not like me a tall. But sometimes all I want to do is revell in the beauty and not do the damn present sourcing! I know that sounds uncharitable, but it has become slightly obscene in our extended family. Everyone has as much as they could ever need so we all struggle to come up with ideas - we are replete! Anyway this year we have agreed to scale it down and take some real meaning from the season. It's blowing a hooley outside, so not sure about snow (this time last year we had it didn't we?!)...Lou x

I think, if you don't mind, I might spend Christmas at your place, full of such wonderful Christmas feeling. Would you mind doing a post on your guest bedroom seasonally bedecked in red and green or ice blue and glittering white before I commit?

ReplyDeleteI loved the all your beautiful photos of Grims Dyke. I loved reading about the history of this amazing estate. I am fascinated by the grounds and gardens. They are so lovely. Thank you for making me feel I was there taking it all in for myself. I think that is one of things I love about blogging most. Going to places I never would have had the opportunity to go had it not been for meeting women like you and tagging along on your outings. Wow, you live in a beautiful country!!!!
sending hugs from here...

ReplyDeleteDecember seems to have arrived very quickly.....I'm not going mad this Christmas, not that I ever really do to be honest, but I just want to enjoy it, go into town to one of the ice rinks with the children, eat mince pies & watch ALL the Christmas films. And I love all the Christmas TV specials!! Going to make a trip to Borough Market too.
Been limbering up my lips for the mistletoe for a while tho, they're always ready LOL!! X
Jackie oh Jackie - it's is the magical time of year. It doesn't feel like it since I'm not in my own home, doing what I love to prepare, but I know it's around me. I listened to Christmas music until I fell asleep last night. Thinking of you and wishing you all the glory that the season has to give.
ReplyDeleteMuch love,
Deb

And I so desperately want to lick up all that cake batter right now...really, how delicious does that look?! Batter and dough...a Christmas song should be created especially for them (I think to the tune of Burl Ives "Silver & Gold").
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your sweet & wonderful comments btw...you and they have brought such smiles!
Happy Pre-Christmassing...
