TRYING TO MAKE A GREY DAY PRETTY ..........

Skies are very grey and overcast, here in the U.K. and there is another threat of sleet and snow so, here are a few beautiful grey images to get us through these long wintry days.
How about this for a beautiful study in grey ?

That's probably where my brolly will end up when I'm out tomorrow.

A lovely place to be with friends and family on a warm summer's evening.......Oh, that seems a very long way away !!

I always keep my Jimmy Choo's on the sash window, don't you ?

Altogether now .......... Aaaaaahhhhh

Gorgeous...............

.......... more gorgeous ..........

.......... and even more gorgeous !!

Sigh......

The promise of summer..........

.......... and, just before I go.... another Aaaaaahhhhh !!
Well. There we are. Something to lift the mood on this grey , winter's day here in the U.K.
Have a great day everyone, wherever you are.
Jackie

  1. Thanks for helping with my 'grey' day. The temps are finally in the 50-60s, but no sun...I guess we can't have it all. I love the white French chair, and the bunny in the cup was sure to result in a smile. Summer is coming!

Today we had sun here in Chicago. Finally!! It was so nice to open the curtains and let it filter in. Still... cold and snow on the way, but we had one lovely day!

  6. Lovely, lovely photos. We're having rain where I live, too - in fact, we're in for a solid week of it.

  7. Sooo lovely...I especially love the outdoor setting for a dinner party!

  8. I love all the photos, Jackie...just gorgeous! The outdoor dining is something for all of us to look forward to this spring and summer and the shoes on the window - love it!

It's actually looking a bit like winter here in Southern California...lots of rain the last few days...we definitely need it though!

    Have a wonderful day! xxoo

  10. It must be very hard for you all to get your Vitamin K at the moment (or is it D? whatever the sunshine one is). However, its a good chance to catch up on sleep with the sun setting so early..... I rather like the cold but that is because it is not cold here! xoxo

  11. Jackie,

  13. Well, you did it . . . and then some. You made grey gorgeous, glamorous, even giddy. You're the gal who transforms pumpkins into coaches and sow's ears into silk purses. Yes, Jackie, you are fairy godmother and magician all rolled into one. That's why I adore you. xoxo Gigi

  21. Ooooh those lovely white 'salons' so tempting for chocolate covered little hands. My best friend has always managed to have that with her kids in Paris... The bunny is exquisite. Given where I live, the Jimmy Choos could only be on the sash window, but that bath sounds heavenly ... hmmm! You make those grey days sound ever so inviting!

  30. I'm sorry the sun still isn't shining for you Jac. Its dry & hot here, & it looks like your William Wales is having a top time in Sydney at the moment. Heard on the news today he loves us so much he wants to buy a house here! Not sure what his Grannie would say about that.

  34. Yes, that did the trick, I feel quite chipper now. Mind you, it was also a moment of self-revelation, as I realised that the photos of baby animals elicit no Aaaahhhh from me whereas an overstuffed vintage chair does. Clearly time to go on an expensive island retreat and leisurely readdress my priorities over a few cocktails.

  35. Oh sweetie, I love this collection of pictures! Amazing!

  54. Sending some sunny warmer sun if only in your mind. It finally was sunny here today after what seems like weeks of gray too. It was a weird 72c; it seems like it went from really cold to, too warm. But, not complaining mind you. I loved this post as I always do. I'm so far behind this week & I've missed keeping in touch. Graham is loving being back home in Aberdeen. Wish I too were there, cold & all. Hugs for a happy weekend my dear xoxo deb
