Haha JayCee .... I think someone needs to go to Specsavers !!!! I thought that photo would be best as it disguises so much deterioration that has happened to my face this year π€£. XXXX
A very Happy Birthday dearest Jackie - and here's to many more. Love and special birthday hugs coming your way from across the pond. Gosh you're still young dear friend - I have five years on you! Bob and I both hope you are spoiled and celebrated today - we will raise a glass to you later. XX
Thank you so much Bob and Mary ..... had a lovely day with lots of family, food, cards and presents { and wine , of course !!! } Hope Bob is getting on OK and that you are looking after yourself. Big hugs back .... always thinking of you both. XXXX
Happy Birthday to you, dear dear Jackie!! You look stunning, even when waterlogged:) I hope your family do was lovely and you were treated magnificently! So many good wishes from me to you for the year ahead. Xxx
That's so lovely Pip .... thank you so much. As I said above, a lot has deteriorated around the face this year so I went arty with the photo π€£ !!! I was indeed treated magnificently with good food, wine, cards and presents and had a lovely day. Hope you are enjoying the Australian summer ..... as I type I am looking out of the conservatory at a thick frost covering the garden !!! But, Spring is on it's way. XXXX
I was just thinking 'what a beautiful watercolour' until I read what you had written below. Happy Birthday J, I'm a few years ahead of you, and I can confirm that it's all OK. xx
Hi Cro ..... I don't know if you have ever seen the Waterlogue feature where you can turn any photograph into a watercolour ? ...... you can get some lovely effects. I rather liked that one that I posted. { and, it hides a multitude of sins π€£ππ€£ XXXX
Thank you so much for your birthday wishes Susan. I had the best time with my family plus extended family ….. couldn’t have asked for a nicer birthday. XXXX
Happy, happy birthday, dear Jackie! You look stunning, and you will stay looking stunning - age is definitely not expressed or described by numbers - and elegance and vivacity and verve are timeless. Have a good year, I wish you all the best! Britta XXXX
Thanks so much Britta. I’m not sure stunning describes me …. more like stunned !!!!! Mother Nature is taking its toll. But, I’m glad to still be here and celebrating birthdays. …. And Spring is in its way. XXXX
Dear Jackie, being your elder (birthday 29.December) I feel the same astounding phenomenon that suddenly I feel a faint touch of age too. Before I believed that older people where a group created that way - now I still cry out: "Sorry, I don't want to join that club!" - and am proud that doctors (where I happily seldom have to go) always ask: "Sorry, please tell me the date of your birth, my assistant got it wrong". Honey on my soul! But no denying that time goes on. Yet I insist: stunning is the right word for you. I worked it out for me: if I have to compare (Buddhists don't recommend it) I look around in my (!) age-group, and then I am content. To compare oneself with a fortyish woman would be an admission ticket to a nervous breakdown. We don't need that - we shine!
What a lovely comment Britta. I have always thought along those lines but now, I fear that life and nature are taking their toll !!! I did have to get a taxi the other day and the driver was talking about age and he said I didn’t look my age but it was dark ππ€£π All I say now is that I don’t mind and that it’s better than the alternative. Keep young in mind and heart Britta and I shall do the same. π₯° XXXX
