ANOTHER SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS !!! ..........


OK ..... apologies for being MIA  .....





Our daughter, her boyfriend and their baby are staying with us along with their cat while the move from their London flat to a house. They are here for three months. 



So far, the cat has weed on our sisal carpet ....... we have floorboards throughout our home apart from the dining room and the study where we have sisal ...... sisal cannot be cleaned !!! You can't wet it .... I have rung carpet cleaners .... they won't touch it with a barge pole !!!! I have to have new carpet .... the only saving grace is that we've had them for about 15 years so, its probably time for new. Maybe John has some cleaning ideas ?
Why couldn't the cat have weed on the floorboards ?



..... and, my daughter has burnt my ironing board cover ! She has offered to buy me a new one !




Along with that, when they are at their new house at the weekend, I have to inject the cat twice daily as he is diabetic !!!!

I don't mind really ..... its lovely to have them here but it makes for a good { ish } blog post !!!

    I feel your pain...and your happiness that they are there...our Granddog takes great delight in arcing his leg on the corner of my bed...or our guest room bed...and then he runs in the living room and takes all the cushions off the couch, and my 4 year old granddaughter says "Oh don't worry, Grandma, he does this at home too..." He's a darling dog but enough is enough!!

    We have just had an invasion of family; eleven in all. We are still counting the things that were either broken or are missing, but frankly we couldn't care less; it was wonderful having them all here. Shame about the carpet!!!

      I really don’t mind ..... it can all be fixed ..... it’s just funny ! I’d rather they all came and there were a few mishaps as U know you would. XXXX

    ahem...family or for that matter company period, at best should be a three day affair or they smell said Ben Franklin. I agree. I love my four and the two dogs but oh am I ready when it's time for them to leave. Bathrooms destroyed, never a made bed, burned pans, weird food I don't like , 8 pairs of shoes strewn throughout the house but we love em. If i had a gorgeous baby like that to play with I could ignore everything else.

    By the way when we had a vomit issue with a sisal on the porch I took it out on the driveway and washed the heck out of the entire thing so it would darken uniformly. Then I flipped it every hour or so flat onto gravel in back yard until dry. I figured what the heck. It's ruined either way. It came out fine, darker, but no stain or odor? It made it another 5 years till the dog chewed a corner we could no longer hide under furniture like the previous two times lol Of course if yours is wall to wall forget what i said :D

      Hi Z and thanks for the sisal help but it is wall to wall ..... I am off to the carpet shop ASAP !!! I think that all of our children are pretty much the same and we forgive all of those things because we love them and love having them stay !!! XXXX

    You rarely mention your daughter. I can't imagine her. Is she like you? All black clothes and long blond hair?

      I mention our son and daughter now and again but I’m not sure if they like it so I don’t do it too often. She looks like me and does wear black a lot !!! ( especially since having the baby ! ) XXXX

    I was just telling someone the other day, my step-daughter's cat shat in her £2,500 designer handbag the other day. I would not choose to keep animals.Well, not at my home anyway.

    I think it is fabulous that you have room in your house for your daughter, grand-baby and her boyfriend. I am sorry about the sisal but as you said, it is 15 years old, it could be time for something new! Enjoy your time and all of the little things will be fixed, time with the grandkids and daughter, you will never get back.

      It really is lovely Elizabeth and I’m not worried about the carpet etc .... these things happen .... we are getting quality time with them all. We did the same for our son, daughter-in-law and their children when they moved and had lots of quality time with them ! XXXX
