I think we are on the last lap...... or the penultimate last lap { I mustn't tempt fate or speak too soon ! } The kitchen guys are here. They will put most of it in then we have to wait ten days for the worktop and, the factory put the hole in the extractor hood in the wrong place so we will have to wait for that. I shall have to use bottled water and the microwave until then ! It's not really a problem and, another couple of weeks won't hurt.
Sorry I've been AWOL commenting but, my husband is in hospital. He has a chest infection which resulted in psychosis, delusion and confusion which can take quite a while to recover from so life has taken a bit of a turn.
XXXX
Dear Jackie, my best wishes for the health of your husband!
ReplyDeleteSo you have to manage all workmen on your own? I believe in England you will have to wait as long as in Germany (now) that the are able to give you an appointed date? Here they have so many excuses now...
Good luck with your beautiful kitchen!
Thank you so much Britta ..... I think its a slow recovery I'm afraid.
DeleteWe are on the last bit of building work now so I can see an end in sight. I shall show you when its finished. XXXX
Oh Jackie, I thought something must be wrong when you missed your birthday. I hope your husband makes a speedy recovery now he is in good hands. I also have a nasty infection and have to take care, and it is frightening. Just what you didn't need with the kitchen work going on although I am sure you are more than capable of keeping it all together. Lots of love and thinking of you and a belated happy birthday. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteDo you know Rachel, I forgot all about posting on my birthday for obvious reasons ! I've been blogging for about 12 years and have never missed a birthday post ! Probably just as well as I'm not looking all that lovely !!!!! The building/kitchen work has gone very smoothly so it hasn't been a problem. Thank you for your kind words and support. It means a lot. XXXX

DeleteI hope your husband is feeling better today. The kitchen is making great progress and it will no doubt be outstanding when finished. It appears the finish line is near and that is very encouraging. Take care Jackie and happy belated birthday.
ReplyDeleteMy husbands recovery is very slow Susan ..... the doctors have said it takes a while to get over. Building/kitchen is nearing completion so it will be lovely to get our house back ! Many thanks for your birthday wishes although this years birthday did get forgotten really but thats OK. Support from my lovely blogging friends is so kind and I appreciate it very much. XXXX
DeleteSending our very best wishes for your husband's quick and full recovery dear Jackie - I'm sure that has been very frightening for you and your family.

DeleteKitchen is half done ..... we just have to wait a week for the worktop to be cut and a few other bits and pieces so the end is in sight. Birthday did get forgotten this year but, not to worry. Hope you are well and its not too cold where you are ! Its pretty cold here at the moment. Lots of love. XXXX
Sorry to hear about your husband's health issues. Sending positive thoughts your way for a full and rapid recovery. Shows how quickly life can turn in a different direction without notice.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Toula ..... life can certainly change in an instant can't it ? XXXX
DeleteOh, dear Jackie, that sounds shocking!! Your poor husband! I'm so glad to hear that recovery is in sight - it must be terribly relieving for everyone. I, too, hope it all goes smoothly.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday from me, too, and the kitchen glimpse looks like it'll be a grand reward for your patience! xx
Its a pretty awful thing to deal with for him and for us and it takes a while to get over. Life does throw these things to all of us at some time so we just have to deal with it.
DeleteBirthday didn't get a look in but it wasn't important really in the great scheme of things ! Kitchen etc is going smoothly { fingers crossed } and should be finished in a week.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support ...... its lovely to have you there. Much love. XXXX
What difficult times. I'm sorry to hear of Mr J's illness, it sounds awful. Let's hope he's over it as soon as possible. As for the Kitchen; just send out to The Ivy for take-aways.
ReplyDeleteOh, thank you Cro. As we age , these things are more and more likely and we have to deal with them don't we ? It has happened before and it's very hard to deal with and to see. Have you got The Ivy's telephone number handy 🤣. XXXX
DeleteSending prayers for a complete recovery. Must have been quite frightening.
Hello Jackie…I was thinking of you today and ask myself how your husband is doing ? And how are you? …love from me and Leaf 🍀🙏🍀🐾❤️
ReplyDeleteI'm concerned for you dear friend. Hope so much that your hubby is much better by now - it's been quite a while and I know a difficult time. Perhaps the kitchen is completed and is lovely I'm sure. Maybe a quick little note here to let us know all is well - I'll pop back soon to check again.
ReplyDeleteBob joins me in sending love and hugs. Stay strong and know we care and hold you close in thoughts and prayers.
