We are cat sitting at the moment .....
We are looking after our son/daughter-in-law/grandchildren's cat, Cloudy .....
They are on holiday in Switzerland at the moment and all the Cattery's were full. Apparently , it's hard to get into a cattery at the moment !
Because he doesn't live here, he's not allowed out so we are letting him have the run of the conservatory ..... considering it's going to be pulled down next month, he can please himself in there and, it's a far bigger space than the cages they get put in in a cattery. He seems very happy and I go and chat to him and play with him a few times a day and he seems pretty contented. He is a lovely cat ..... we have had cats over the years but, I don't think I want the responsibility anymore but, it's lovely to look after him for a while.
He goes home today and we will miss him.

DeleteI used to have a cat the same. He's a British Blue. I had two of them. They were both quite lazy cats. X
ReplyDeleteYes Rachel ..... he's a British Blue. Such lovely looking cats and Cloudy is very friendly. But, our son says, like you, they are lazy and not very clever !!!! It was a joy to look after him and I'm already missing him. XXXX

ReplyDeleteWe no longer have a kitty, our last one was with us for 21 yeas! One can't be busy traveling and have domestic pets. I cat sit my neighbor's Ms. Nala sometimes and, though not hard work, it does tie us down if we want to go anywhere overnight. A weekend now and then is OK, it's those 2-3 week long journeys which make it really hard for me. I will have to learn to say "sorry, but no" I think!
Beautiful birdcage Jackie - as we've always said, we do have similar decorating tastes, haha! Hope the renovation plans are moving along and all is good.

He is such a lovely looking cat Mary ..... the grandchildren named him Cloudy as, obviously, he looks like a cloud !!! That's a good idea about framing some photographs of him ..... I'm pretty good at collages even though I say so myself !!! We've had three cats but, sadly, they are all gone now and, I quite like not having the responsibility now. My sister bought me the birdcage years ago for my birthday. Now that Cloudy has gone home, I have cleared out the conservatory ready for the builder. It was put back a few weeks and we expect him to start in September. I'll keep you posted ! Hugs back Mary ..... keep well. XXXX

DeleteDear Jacki, I only had a cat for a very short time. (We lived on a sort of farm, and it went out at night, but then it disappeared, maybe an accident).

I'm with you Britta ...... we have had three cats and I loved them all but I don't want the responsibility anymore. I think I might be looking after Cloudy again in the future ..... leaving him with your Mum and Dad is far cheaper than a Cattery 😂🤣 XXXX
DeleteCloudy takes a very nice picture. I'm glad you were able to care for Cloudy as I've never liked the cat and dog boarding cages. I bet you will miss your daily chats with Cloudy. He'll miss you too.
ReplyDeleteHe's very photogenic isn't he Susan ? I remember our ginger cat went into a cattery and came home with an abscess on his neck !!! I'm missing Cloudy already and he only went home yesterday ! XXXX
