AMAZED, AGOG, AGHAST !!!! ..........



I'm was in shock ..... utter shock !! I posted one lovely post about how sad I was that our ' By Invitation series was over then, I started to lose followers ..... slowly at first then by the score !!!!!


I was totally confused !! I've hardly lost a follower since I started blogging six years ago ...... the odd one now and again, yes, but, over 100 !! Surely the By Invitation wasn't that popular ?!! .... or my own post that boring !!!!!


I was rather upset ..... I'm not particularly precious about how many followers I've got but, I've worked hard on my blog to accumulate nearly 2,000 followers so, it was a bit of a shock .....


..... a lie down in a dark room was called for !!!!!!!


Now I find out that many of you are losing followers and that it's probably a Blogger issue. Apparently  all of our followers are still there ...... it's just the total figure that's wrong !!! 

SO, 

any of you out there who have never followed me and  would like to help me get my followers back up to speed, feel free to follow me !!!!

..... and, if you are losing followers and you wondered why, at least you know it's not you or your blog !!!!!

    Oh Jackie, I felt the same two days ago :-)..........in one hour I lost more than 100 followers. That was a technical problem, but I was shocked too. A wonderful Christmas to you and your family and thank you so much for lovely comment (it is always such a gift for me).

      It's good to know that others have had the same problem ....... I couldn't believe that so many people would unfollow !!!!!

    You chose lovely photos to express your dismay. No wonder you were shocked losing a 100 followers was a bit steep to say the least but at least you know it was no fault of yours. Have a lovely Christmas Jackie - see you next year.

    Ok, dear Jacqueline, three of my great-aunts and my solicitor's daughter's milliner are primed and ready to follow you to fill that gap. They were over the moon when I mentioned there would be falling snow in the background. No need to thank me; one does what one can.

    Glad to see it's only a glitch with Blogger, Fab pics you chose for the feelings you were experiencing. Hope they get the followers back on followers list.

      Someone suggested that Mr Blogger is simply wiping off any blogs that haven't been used for more than a certain period, their followings would also be deleted at the same time. At least I'm hoping this is the case; I lost 3. Nice to see my old mate Twigs on your page.

    That is just bizarre Jacqueline. Don't know how that could happen except for Blogger hiccup. I've had many of those. Your blog couldn't be any better. Happy holidays.

    Yes, it's happened to me too this past week - but only a few so far! I see a lot of bloggers writing about this and most think it's a Google problem. Anyway, if they are kicking us aside I'm just glad I'm apparently still one of your Followers - would hate to lose touch!

    These photos are amazing - a couple of the women I recognize of course, the others obviously lovely models, and black and white really sets the right atmospheric mood for this post.

    I do not even pay attention to my followers. I will have to go look. My guess is that Blogger is possibly cleaning up. A month after I was on Instagram they did a big clean up and people lost hundreds of followers. It is actually a good thing because the followers you are losing are fake or spam accounts. Cheers to a Merry Christmas this week.

    I have no idea how many followers I have, as after my first year, I removed the counter..The rant is still on my sidebar. I do occasionally check the overview after a post I am proud of, usually a rant to see if anyone read it. lol Followers don't mean readers to me. In the early years I followed a couple hundred but have no idea who or where they are now....

      She has aged beautifully, hasn't she John ? I thought she had such a lovely face when she started her modelling career and I used to paint my eyelashes and freckles on just like her !!!

    Don't you worry, dear Jackie. Maybe some followers misunderstood the post, thought that it's YOUR last one. I've realised over the years that people very often don't read very proper, they just "overfly" the text or mails, looking mainly the images, getting facts wrong.
    Apart from followers we have lots of readers worldwide.
    Look at me - I have "only" just over 300 followers showing at the side bar. But still DAILY between 200 and 300 page views, even with very little posting, which amazes me.
    Guess that "your tears" are dried up by now :-)

      Hi Karen ..... I wasn't really worried .... just didn't know what was going on !!!!! My first thought was that all of the followers that left only liked ' By Invitation ' !!!!!! It's obviously something to do with Blogger as so many others have had the same thing happen!!

    IT's the COMPUTER!!!!!!!I LOST ALL MY SUBSCRIPTIONS!!!ALL OF THEM......had to re-subscribe only to be told I ALREADY WAS!!SO, slowly I have been re-subscribing with my OLD AOL ACCOUNT!!!THANK GOD I had TWO!!I will see a blog on someone else site and think I have not received THAT POST In ages!!I feel awful as I was a good commenter and do not want to fall behind..................THERE ARE DEFINATLY KINKS out there in CYBER SPACE!!

    Dear Jackie, as it weren't hundreds but just a few on my humble blog, I (really!) thought: mmmh - one follower might be dead - another angry - or: mmh - there was someone who only used my address to send advertisement etc.
    But I understand your feelings very much: one is so distressed when it happens. Come to think of it: I think of those as followers, who write a comment, at least sometimes.
    Twiggy is wonderful! I'll follow her.

    I love your picture of Twiggy. I believe that I have lost fewer followers than most, in fact I haven't lost any but have gained one or two, is because my followers are relatively recent and probably already have gmail so google are happy for them to stay. I think the most important people are those who comment, not those who register as "followers", so do not worry. I feel so lucky today for instance that anybody bothers to comment at all so difficult can I be!

      Hi Rachel .... I'm just back from a funeral so am a little late to comment. I wasn't too worried about it but, it all happened after I had posted about the final ' By Invitation ' post and I thought everyone had left because they only liked those posts !!!! But, it looks as if Blogger are clearing out a lot of dead wood so, that's OK !! I'm going over to yours now to see what you've been up to today !! XXXX
