Our By Invitation subject is that old chestnut ' The Fantasy Dinner Party ' !!
I think that I've done this about three times now but, onwards and upwards ..... here's my fourth go at it !!!
Ten people, living or dead, fictional or not, but not Jesus or family !!!!
She's coming ..... she seems to know where to get the good drinks .....
We will need music .....
Marilyn is an obvious choice but, I would really like to know what happened to her ...... was it suicide or what ?
I don't know who she is but she seems like fun .....
Self explanatory !!!!! .....
She's definitely not coming !!!!! .....
He can bring the flowers .....
Pete and Dud can come ..... laughter is the most important
ingredient of a dinner party .....
My husband's family tree has been traced back to Simon de Montford so, I'd like him to be there ..... Simon is the one on the right and that's a 30 ' ish ' year old photograph of Mr. Home on the left ..... can you see the similarities ?
..... and finally, Marie ..... she can bring the cake !!!!
Who would you have as dinner party guests ? ..... any new, original ideas ?
To see who others in our group would invite, go over to Marsha's where she has all of the links.

The location (top picture) looks perfect. May I have 5 Marilyns, and 5 dancing girls please?
ReplyDeleteThe five dancing girls are on the ferry as we speak Cro ....... the five Marilyns might prove a little more difficult !!!! XXXX

DeletePlease count me in for the dinner party Jackie! Would love to join you :-) Your quests look like fun to me. There is one that caught my eye immediately. Who is he? You will have to share with me ;-)
ReplyDeleteThe resemblance between your husband and Simon de Montford is striking indeed!

Madelief x
You would be most welcome at my dinner party Madelief ...... I don't know who the ' hot guy ' is ..... just came across him on my internet travels !!
Delete.... and, I was quite shocked at how much my husband looks like his ancestor .... his hair and beard are so similar.
Wishing you a lovely week too. XXXX
Oh how fun that party would be, but yeah, who is that guy!?
ReplyDeleteMr. Home does look like his ancestor!
Today I'm thinking Frida and Diego, Napoleon and Josephine, Boudica, John and Abigail Adams, Louise Brooks...mmmm, who else? (Tomorrow my list may be different!) xo
Hi Carol,
DeleteDon't know who the ' hot guy ' is .... sorry !!
Mr Home does look like his ancestor doesn't he ? I was quite suprised at how much he does look like him !! XXXX
I would like to have diner with you....❤️❤️❤️. Lovely week Darling great post x

Such a fun post . . .
ReplyDeleteI get the sweater guy next to me . . . move the gal out of that seat for me, okay?
I'm afraid that you are just one of many who wants to sit next to him Lynne !!!! ..... and, as it's my dinner party, you'll have to fight me for the privilege !!! haha. XXXX
DeleteI'd love to peek in the window of this one!
ReplyDeletexoxo
You would be with us Pamela ...... you would be a wonderful guest at my dinner table. XXXX
DeleteLove the pictures you have chosen - looks like it will be an interesting party. I would choose Mary Berry to bring the cake, the whole of the 'Strictly' professionals for the dancing, Sarah Raven for the flowers, Heston Blumenthal for crazy food and all my friends from the 60's when we all knew how to party to the max and just so I can sit and look at him all night - the chap who models underwear for MandS.
ReplyDeleteI love the sound of your chioce of dinner party guests Elaine. Yours sounds better than mine !!! XXXX
DeleteOh, so many people I'd like to meet. I think I would use up my choices very quickly by selecting authors.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I've done this topic so many times Janie that I decided to choose random people this time. Mind you, they would probably make for a better dinner party than all famous people don't you think ? XXXX
DeleteSuch a lovely post, Jackie! And yes: the similarity of your husband to the painting is amazing! The party seems utterly attractive - tell us how it was - I think you will be the "special guest"??
ReplyDeleteHi Britta,
DeleteI was quite amazed at the similarities of my husband and his ancestor.
Sorry if I've missed any of your posts .... I've been a bit busy lately but am back on track now so will be over to see you.
Have a lovely weekend. XXXX
Hi Jacqueline, I love your choice of guests. I can just hear the voices. I will sit next your husband as I want to hear all his fun stories about you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving
Helen xx
Hi Helen,
DeleteYou are very welcome to sit next to my husband but I don't think that there's an awful lot of interesting stuff about me ..... Marilyn would be far more interesting !!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. Much love. XXXX
Glad you left Wednesday Addams out Jackie, I wouldn't want her there either. Maybe Spike Milligan could join Pete and Dud?? :-) xx
ReplyDeleteYes Deb .... Wednesday Addams can go and play with the girl with the doll who's not invited !!!!!
Delete.... and Spike Milligan would be a very welcome guest. XXXX
Who is tbe sweet bearded boy in the jumper
ReplyDeleteLovely
I have enjoyed visiting your Home blog – quite fancy and elegant. It is an amusing idea, to invite important guests to a meal of illusions. I don’t think I would invite our queen Marie-Antoinette – don’t know if she can speak French yet or only with a heavy Austrian accent, but maybe Madame de Maintenon. I’d invite Marcello Mastroianni, as a young man, and Victor Hugo, Omar Sharif as a young man, and Maria Callas to provide her glorious voice as well as Carlos Gardel to play some tangos as background music. Gosh that is fun – how about inviting John Singer Sargent and ask him to paint the scene? Or Henri de Toulouse Lautrec? Mark Twain would provide many fun stories too, and the meal would have to be cooked by Julia Child. Such a fun theme!
