ANOTHER END OF AN ERA ..........

It has been a sad time in the entertainment community over the last month.

Eagles founder, Glenn Frey is another who has left us but without a great deal said. He, along with Don Henley, made the pilgramage to Los Angeles, both with the same dream ..... to make their mark in the music industry ..... they certainly acheived that and made an impact on the lives of millions.

Like many other bands from my youth, The Eagles songs come laden with association ... emotional and personal.

We saw The Eagles twice at the old Wembly Stadium. As a teenager in the 60's, The Beatles music was the anthem of my youth but, in the 70's, it was also The Eagles.

The world will be just a little less rock and roll without him.

    1. One of my favourite albums of all time Cro and I loved The Long Run Album. It's a little sad that his death didn't get much attention. XXXX

  2. Yes, it's been a sad time with so many celebrity deaths recently, many being guys we grew up with and who serenaded us with unforgettable music. Today's offerings often don't do it - everything sounds the same and the words can't even be understood. I love a song with a story. May they all be in a better place making beautiful music.

  3. Saw them in Houston. They are associated with so many of that era, either writing songs that others made famous or singing with them. It is sad but inevitable.

  6. There seems to be so many people leaving us at the moment - another great loss. Apparently he had rheumatoid arthiritus and the medication he was taking lead to complications - you never know when your time is up - frightening really.

  7. A few days ago I saw (in the Guardian?) a photo of Keith Richard, evidently reading a newspaper, smirking. They underlayed him the sentence:"Ha, look whom I have survived today!" XXX

  13. A legend indeed. I work with someone who actually waited on Glen Fry. She said while she was used to seeing lots of famous people at the hair shop in LA back then, she could not compose herself when he came in. He was that "Gorgeous" as she put it. :)
