A SOAK IN THE TUB ..........

As much as I love a shower, you can't beat a long, hot soak in the bath and here are some that I wouldn't mind in my house.......... I wouldn't be able to have this one in my house as I haven't got anything like this view from any of my windows, but, a girl can dream ..........you would have to be very careful that you hadn't left the soap on the floor when you got out, wouldn't you ?!! Could end up flying out of the window !!......... another wonderful view although, methinks that this is just a staged bathroom but I don't care....it makes a great photograph !!!!

I love this one...romantic, pretty but still seems practical....ish.

I certainly wouldn't mind having a bath in here.......... sort of like bathing in Victorian times but with all of the modern conveniences.

Modern stainless steel fittings with a traditional feel.

Wonderful steel bath and I love the colour of the walls. I don't think that I would have chosen that colour but, it looks great.

Probably a last resort, this one !!!!!!!
I will be taking into the bathroom the following..........

Jo Malone bath oil..........

.......... a cup of tea and a good book ..........

..........maybe replace the cup of tea with a glass of red wine .........and finally..........

.......... a box of champagne truffles..........

.......... see you in about 2 hours !!!!!!!!!!
Jackie

  1. You incorrigible romantic, Jacqueline! I wish you many happy bathing hours, even if it isn't in one of these. Isn't that the most extraordinary shower in the 5th photo, sort of like a Houdini stage prop? I'd say I'd laugh whenever I saw it, which would make for a very jolly household.

  5. There is something so 'Fairy Tale' like about old romantic bathtubs...and that is my decorating style. We have an old antique copper tub and I love it (its not hooked up...yet!!) Love the truffles and the Jo Malone too, she has the best products!!

  6. Maybe the galvanized tub is for camping. I wouldn't mind having any of those tubs. Or the glass of wine... or the truffles....

  9. The bit about flying out the window really had me laughing! I love the victorian bathroom - a wood stove along with everything else you mentioned would really be my ideal space.

  10. Another one to bookmark, Jacqueline, you might soon have your own bookmark directory listed.

I adore the first bath and the romantic pretty one with the curtains, oh, planning!

As for the books! Did you read my mind in the past? I wrote in your last post about covering books and now you have just given me a lovely idea with these gentle florals.

Gorgeous post again, Peace and love, x.

  11. As I sit here in the office, with papers piled high....I embrace your dreams and wish to make them my own..at least for a moment! I do have a clawfoot tub....but at the moment it needs a good scrubbing! Back to the task at hand...
    Take care,

  12. You may leave me soaking in bath #4...the one with the fireplace. I would not take gold for my clawfoot tub. You can find me there every single night. Soft music playing, and Edward lying right beside the tub.

  13. Dearest Jackie!
Seeing , and reading your post, makes me desperate taking a bath, in really hot water with lots of oil... And for now, your images will have to do, becuase a last yer , I desided to sell the tub, and replace it with a shower... Now I can´t wait til we get the bathroom finished , in the new building, and that, my friend, will take a long time... I love taking a hot bath, this time of year, and I could do it every day.

Beautiful images, the first one is gorgeous...

Jackie, you really touched my heart with your comment, the other day... You are the most wonderful person, and I´m so happy and proud to be your friend.

    Love/

  17. let me say first what pretty feet you have my dear! I never realized how scary my feet were til I started taking pictures of them. I don't do that anymore! You always show us the best and most romantic pictures....it's an escape that I can't live without. I often think that I will sit in the tub with a glass of wine and relax but often I just get down to the scrubbing and forget about the wine! Need to get my priorities straight!

  18. Oh, you are divine. Every time you create a post, you just don't throw it together. It's a story, an escape, a fantasy, a dream.

BTW, I think it's so sweet the way you defend your homeland. Sometimes I'm asked if I'm English -- not when speaking English of course -- and it makes my heart flutter. "You mean you REALLY think I might have a beautiful English accent?" Gosh.

  19. Gorgeous Jacqueline
I think having a bathtub is essential. How else can we soak away our troubles and forget the world. The only problem with bathing is .. i never want to get out!

So speaking of forgetting the world.. I better dry off and get back to that work.. Ciao Ciao xx Julie

  20. ahhhh ~ what a great idea. We jump in and out of the shower all week yet seldom take the time to sit and relax in a nice tub. I try to do this at least once a week ~ more so in the winter months than any other time of year. There is nothing I love more than bubbles, candles and a great book. I love all of the tubs you chose and you know I will never turn down a glass of great wine! xo

PS: thank you so much for your kind words you posted over at "my place" today. I am so glad that I stumbled across your blog.

  21. messed up last comment will redo. Jacqui - I would expect you to love a good bath being English and all and no I will make no jokes about how the English and soap and water don't mix!! I have just a normal bath, no claw feet, no romantic shower curtain or veils or breezes or red wine but I still love it. But come to think of it I have not had a bath for more than a year! (Although I have showered during that period!). Its just that it is the children's thing at the moment so it never really occurs to me. xoxo

  27. What a beautiful post, Jackie! I have to be honest, though; I've been staying in a cottage with only a clawfoot tub and no shower, so it's been baths for me every day these last few months. I'm normally a shower girl & I'm going a bit mad! Still, I love the look of a pretty tub, and you have found some truly lovely ones, my dear! Big hugs to you!

  28. I like the way you think, Jackie! I am a bath girl like no other.....I would like the one with the fireplace please, along with all the extra's that you enticed us with! The first one is nice, but I would be afraid to slip out of the window too...haha...Thanks for sharing!

  34. Great photos....so funny, because I was so looking forward to soaking in a luxurious tub during my weekend getaway. I searched high and low for chic boutique hotels...I ended up staying at 6o Thompson. The first thing I did was go into the bathroom in hopes of finding a fabulous tub....No such luck..it was a fabulous shower instead! Well, I do get to dream about through your post...

Only you ( & I) would think of that! Such gorgeous photos to dream about. I LOVE Jo Malone products..love, love, love. Am I repeating myself a lot today or what? Thanks for your terrific comment. I have been wanting to write. The in-law's flew back to Scotland on Friday, so I have a few moments to myself. Hoping all is well with you & the fam? Hugs to you xxx deb

  36. Hi Jackie,
You do have the best taste in tubs girl. I love them all...even the one in the great outdoors. I always tell hubs that I need an outdoor shower up at the 'shack', but I think now I'll start begging for an old zinc tub.
Your images always get me dreaming. I love every post you ever write.
